What are Verified Mark Certificates (VMC)
Verified Mark Certificates (VMCs) allow you to render your logo next to the “sender” field in email clients so that users see your mark—and that your organization has been authenticated—before they even open your message. It's the email equivalent of a checkmark on social media, with added validation and security requirements to help protect your customers and your brand against phishing and spoofing attacks.
How do VMCs work?
Verified Mark Certificates are available for purchase from DigiCert. A VMC is the only way you can display your logo on verified emails and display the verified checkmark in Gmail.
Before you can display your logo, email clients must be able to validate that you are enforcing Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance (DMARC) standards, which help to reduce phishing and spoofing attacks by giving your organization more control over your emails.
Once you've demonstrated DMARC enforcement, you will be able to upload your trademarked and validated logo or government mark for display within email clients. If you have multiple logos, you can choose which will render for each communication flow.

1. Become
DMARC
compliant.
Check the current status of your domains. To qua22lify for a VMC, you must have a DMARC record with “p=quarantine” or “p=reject.” We recommend using the domain checking tool from our partner Valimail. If you need help setting up DMARC, check out our helpful step-by-step guide.
2. Make sure your logo is trademarked.
Before we can issue a VMC, your logo must be a government mark or be registered with the appropriate trademark office for your region. It can be a lengthy process, so we recommend getting started as soon as possible.
3. Ensure your logo is properly formatted.
VMC logos must be in the appropriate .svg format to display in your customers’ inboxes.
4. Purchase

5. Upload your logo or or we can help you host it.
